Hello my name is Mr. Bunten; I am a new Teacher and very excited to be teaching you this year. I am
a graduate from California State University Los Angeles, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in
History; Teacher Preparation Social Science. After graduating from CSULA, I received my Single
Subject Teaching Credential from Azusa Pacific University. I was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at
Santa Paula High School, were I developed a program that did not win a game in two year to winning
10 and two games in league. I was an assistant baseball coach under my mentor Paul Marrietti for 5
years.
I believe that as an educator, which every lesson should differentiate between all levels of learners,
challenges each student to think more critically about the content, and reach high levels of Bloom’s
Taxonomy. I believe that such achievement will develop students the inner strengths, self-esteem
and skills to become effective and successful future leaders. My strongest quality is my flexibility
and openness to improve myself as a life-long learner and deepen my own content knowledge. I
know this makes me strive to always become a better teacher and keeps me searching for different
ways to approach content area curriculum and improve my teaching techniques.
I thank you for taking the time to read a little about me and I know this will be a great and
successful school year.
History Class Mission; we will explore the economic, political and social events that helped shape the
World and the United States. Being a New Teacher I am looking forward to an exciting class full of
discovery, not only of events of the past, but how they impact us today. Over the next few months, we
will be examining history through the use of primary and secondary sources, technology, group
projects, individual research assignments and lectures. It is my hope that together we can make
meaning out of the past so that we may better understand the future.
