Extra Credit

Welcome to the extra credit page!  Listed below are some choices you can do 
outside of PE class to make-up for lost points.  All of the choices may be 
found on the BAM! website (www.BAM.gov).  You can access this website by 
going to the LINKS-PE connection on this home page.  

You may choose any of the assignments but I will only accept up to 9 points 
per quarter.  Follow the directions carefully as no credit will be given for 
incomplete work.  Enjoy!

Choices worth 1 point extra credit:
1. Click on "Food and Nutrition" tab (top) then the "Dining Decisions" tab 
(left).  Play the game and print out the last page with your food choices.
2. Click on "Your Life" tab (top) then "Stress-O-Meter Quiz" tab (left).  
Take the quiz then print out the last page with your results.

Choices worth up to 3 points extra credit:
1. Click on "Your Body" tab (top) then "Lurking in the Locker Room" tab 
(left).  Choose the boy or girl.  Write down the 10 areas germs and bacteria 
can be found in the locker room and describe each (each number has a 1-2 
sentence description).  
2. Click on "Your Life" tab (top) then "Kabam! Comic Creator" tab (left).  
Pick a comic scene to participate in, create your own comic, and print out 
the comic you created.
3. Click on "Physical Activity" tab (top) then "Meeting the Challenge" tab 
(left).  Click on "Don't let Asthma Keep You Out of the Game" and answer the 
following questions.  Write the question and answer on your own paper.
    a) How many medals were won by athletes with asthma in the 1984 summer   
Olympics?
    b) How many American kids and teens are affected by asthma?
    c) Name 2 things that can "trigger" asthma.
    d) Name 3 exercises that are good for asthmatics.
    e) What are the 5 tips to improve breathing for both asthmatics and 
others?

Choices worth up to 6 points extra credit:
1. Click on "Physical Activity" tab (top) then "Meeting the Challenge" tab 
(left).  Click on "U Can Do It 2" then write a 1 page summary of an athlete 
with physical limitations.  Be sure to use complete sentences and have topic 
and concluding sentences.
2. Click on "Physical Activity" tab (top) then "Activity Cards" tab (left). 
Choose a sport or activity and write a 1 page summary of the physical 
benefits and how to play the sport.  Be sure to use complete sentences and 
have topic and concluding sentences.
3. Click on "Physical Activity" tab (top) then "Activity Cards" tab (left). 
Choose a sport or activity and write a 1 page summary of the Xpert.  Be sure 
to read all the information about that Xpert ("Read More") and use complete 
sentences with topic and concluding sentences.
