capillaries. You must draw an label each part. 
March 13 – Due: Section 3 of the HBP complete and beautiful 

March 16 – Project Alert HW: Interview your parents and discuss the issues 
outlined by the paper given 
March 17 – HW: Structure and function of veins, arteries, and capillaries. 
Draw an example of how these connect
March 18 – HW: function and structure of RBCs, WBCs, plasma and platelets 
March 19 – HW: Explain blood pressure and how to lower/raise it 
March 20 – HW: Color and finish any part of the HBP (Human Body Portfolio) 
that has been assigned 

March 23 – Avalon fieldtrip to the Los Angeles Zoo. 
March 24 – Due: HBP Section 4 (beautiful, complete and ready to be placed

(remember to use your own words!!!)

April 21 – HUMAN BODY PORTFOLIO DUE! Remember that 10% will be taken off per 
day that it is late (50 points a day!) 

Please note: I assign around 10-15 minutes of homework a night. In addition 
to this, I allow students to work on assignments in class. I check homework 
when an entire section has been completed. If students do not do their 
homework when assigned then can fall easily behind in work and have to spend 
longer completing their task.
