Announcements:
• Envelopes will be coming home on Mondays for the rest of the year. A weekly newsletter
will be included to keep us all on the same page! Old Sierra Camp is coming up quickly!
Several notes related to Old Sierra Camp came home today. Please read all of them carefully,
fill out those that need to be returned and return ASAP.
• PARENT NEEDED: A group of parent volunteers is being formed to assist with crosswalk
duty before and after school. If you can offer your services, please contact the front office.

Academics

Reading: Dollars and Sense Unit, Salt, folktale about trade.
Spelling- Digraphs
Writing – This month we will work on Response to Literature.
Mathematics – We will have the fraction test on Wednesday and will be moving onto probability
and decimals. Please continue to review homework each night with your child.
Social Studies- We’ve finished missions, and will learn about Mexican California for the next
few weeks.
Science – Kids will be studying rocks and minerals with Mrs. Rebhan this month.
Test Prep – CST testing will take April 20 – 28th, so we will be reviewing test taking tips and
strategies.
Dates to Remember:
Tuesday, 3/17: PTO meeting, 7 pm Wednesday, 3/18: 2:30 – 5:00: Talent Show Auditions. Prepare
for auditions to showcase your unique talent.
Friday, 3/27: Final Payment Due for OSC.
Friday, 3/27, 6-8:00 pm: PTO Movie Night – Bolt! will be playing in our own multipurpose room
for your viewing pleasure. Families are invited, and this fund raiser requests $2 per person.
Wear your PJ’s, bring your blanket and pillows, sit back, share some popcorn, and enjoy the
show!
