If you're working on /r/ at the beginning of the word, remember to:
"Freeze your lips and make your tongue do all the work".

Here are some words you can try. Say them 5x:
rock, rag, run, read, rack

If you need to, look in a mirror. This will give you feedback and let you 
know if your lips are moving.

Once you master keeping your lips from moving, try these drills:
Say each word combination and make them as different as possible
"rock, walk", "rip, whip", "red, wed", "ride, wide", "rich, witch"
