About The Teacher

My name is Laura Johnston. I grew up in Burlingame, CA. I attended UC Santa
Barbara and graduated in 2006 with a major in communication and a minor in
Italian and applied psychology. During my junior year at UCSB, I studied in
Florence, Italy. I received my credentials at Notre Dame de Namur University.
During my credential education, I student taught in the second grade in
Belmont, and the fourth grade at Oak Knoll! I have taught second grade at Oak
Knoll for two years and I have loved every moment of it. I spent this past
summer working in Rome as a tutor and an au pair for an Italian family. It was
such an amazing experience! I love the Italian culture and enjoy studying and
speaking the language. One day I would love to teach Italian!Some interesting
things about me are I love to swim, hike, read, go to the movies with friends,
and attend sports games. I was also born on the fourth of July! I have a
little brother, Joey, who is going into his final year at UC Davis. My father
is a sergeant in the San Francisco Police Department, and my mother works at
Aragon High School. I currently live in San Francisco with two great friends,
and I love San Francisco! I look forward to being an integral part of your
child’s education, long-lasting confidence, and a love for learning! See you
on the first day of school! Get ready for an amazing year!
