2009-2010 HOMEWORK POLICY for Mrs. Truesdell's classes
Homework assigned is usually to be completed for the next day UNLESS the
assignment specifically states a different due date.
If a child is ABSENT the comments below should guide you to the ways
assignments can be handled. Always email me if you don't understand.
I cannot accept homework that is brought in on a memory stick - nothing
personal, I just wish to avoid possible viruses creeping into my computer.
A student can, if you're having printer problems, email the document as an
attachment. That has been mostly successful in the past.
I will record a 50% grade for LATE work. The assignment will still be
corrected but the grade will be 50%. Too many LATE assignments will
definitely impact a Quarter grade.

If a student is absent a homework buddy (usually your seat partner) will
record assignments/reminders on a "While You Were Gone" worksheet. Feel free to
call or email this person for clarification. This worksheet,
textbooks, spiral notebooks, and workbooks will be left on the trophy table IF
parents have requested this. Otherwise a student will get this 'While You Were
Gone" worksheet when he/she returns to school.
I am making a SPECIAL REQUEST of PARENTS this year (2009- 2010). You may
request that your child's homework be placed on the trophy table for after
school pickup. PLEASE follow through with this. Our school is open until
6:00PM. A student who is present in class works hard to take charge of his/her
own responsibilities and the work to help your sick child is one he/she takes
seriously. Of course, you can always have a sibling bring home this work or
wait until your 7th Grader returns to school. Either way, we record what
your child missed that day.
