ID Photos
Thank you to all of our students that taken their ID photos. We are still waiting for some to have their pictures taken, and we would like to finish this task up next week. These ID photos are very important as they will provide you with discounts and help us during emergency situations. Please stop by the office at your earliest convenience to say cheese. Thank you!
Flu Season
It is that time a year again when we are all trying to stay healthy. If your student is running a fever, or doesn't feel well, please keep them home. We will be encouraging hand washing, and the use of hand sanitizer, while the students are in class, but keeping them home if they are sick would be much appreciated. Also, be sure to send sweaters and jackets (labeled with your child's name!) as our weather in Tehachapi can change drastically from one day to the next. If you have any questions, or concerns, feel free to contact the front office.
Enrichment 2 Update!
Enrichment session 2 has been filled with lots of learning, lots of smiles, and lots of students. Since our enrollment has increased, we have found ourselves in new territory concerning our enrichment classes. While we know we have a few holes in this schedule, we want to reassure you that we are doing everything possible to make changes for the next two sessions. For the rest of this enrichment period, we are asking for your help. Please send your child with a 3X5 card with their schedule written on the card. Also, we are now asking that each child bring a folder, a pencil, a book, and a snack to enrichment. Furthermore, if your student is not enrolled in a class, including the TA class, we are asking that you either pick up your child or be with them on campus. With so many students here at one time, we are concerned for their safety when they are not enrolled in a class. Unfortunately, we do not have the man power to watch over them while we are teaching. Finally, please make sure your student knows the pick up plan and is picked up on time. This will ease their worry at the end of a very long day. We appreciate all that you do and know that with your help our next four sessions will be a success. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Deanna Downs.

New Albums and Video - Yosemite Field Trip on VOCS Tehachapi Shutterfly Photo Site
We have an exciting and safe way to share VOCS Tehachapi school pictures from workshops, fieldtrips, and activities. This site features albums from 2005-06 school years to the present. Also, parents are able to now post comments and download photos to your personal computer. Ask for the password from your resource teacher, and then go to www.valleyoaks.shutterfly.com enter the password, and then click ok. If you would like to order prints, you will need to sign-up with Shutterfly and order copies or just enjoy the viewing a slideshow. Return All Library Books ASAP
Please return all library books as soon as possible. The VOCS Tehachapi library in room B/C will be closed for a short time to reorganize. As soon as library check out is available we will let you know on the NewsFlash.
K-12 Chess Club Every Friday from 12:50-2:30 in Classroom D
Come one, come all, from raw beginners to seasoned players! This is for all ages K – 12 and parents are welcome too! Learn this amazing game played by royalty for centuries. It’s been proven to help with math ability as well. Listen to the class instruction or just have fun playing if you already know how. We will go over basic rules, strategies, tournament rules, etc., but mostly we’ll have lots of fun!
Parking Lot Procedures
Thank you for remembering to drive four miles an hour in our parking lot. We only had one crazy driver, and that was the UPS man! Your patience, and extra time in the parking lot, keeps our students safe. When parking, please do not park in front of our neighbor's driveway. We are trying to be good neighbors and this creates a problem for us. Also, please remember to pick your students up on time and have a plan for where pick-up is with your child. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.
