As  parents and teachers, we all need a chance to get out of the house, gather with others, and be energized, inspired, and informed about our commitment to home-schooling. The resource teachers of Valley Oaks in Tehachapi are offering eight monthly workshops designed to do just that. The workshops cover topics ranging from hands-on projects to thematic instruction to writing/reading strategies and much, much more. We invite all parents to mark their calendars and join us as we learn ideas, strategies, techniques, and skills that will enhance and develop our home-school curriculum and instruction.

Exciting Writing
If you are intimidated by assigning, teaching, and evaluating writing... take heart... you are not alone! In this workshop we'll work through the writing process, from the first brainstorm to the final, final draft. You'll gain invaluable tools to assist you in working with your student writer.
