This will be my 25th year of teaching (which is difficult for me to
believe). I grew up here in Pleasanton, and I went to Walnut Grove,
Harvest Park and Amador High School. I graduated from UC Berkeley (Go
Bears!) and went to Hayward State for my teaching credential. I began my
teaching career in South Lake Tahoe where I taught for twelve years. I then
moved back to Pleasanton and taught for four years at Lydiksen and another
eight years here at Walnut Grove. I have two children (one at Harvest Park
and one at Amador), and my husband is a sergeant in the Pleasanton Police
Department. It was never in my "plan" to come back and teach in my old
elementary school, but here I am enjoying every day!
My goal is to foster a love of learning in every child. After many years of
teaching, I've come to see that everyone learns at a different rate and in a
different manner. What a boring world it would be if we all came out the
same! I appreciate each child for their own uniqueness and realize that ALL
children are gifted in some way or another.
