I sent home the permission/information slip for the Clarinet Day up in
Denver, for Thursday, January 14th. I could only reserve 20 spots this year
as they are limiting attendance. The cost is $11 for the day and that
includes lunch. The first 20 clarinet players to turn in their permission
slips and checks will be the ones to go. It is a very fun and informative day
with beginning, intermediate, and advanced groups performing that afternoon.
I have added a copy of the permission slip to the Handouts section of this
website. As of 11/23/09 I still have 4 spots available.
Now that we have reached a general aggreement on shirt styles for the Bands,
the officers will make the final call for color and font. We plan to order
shirts the week after Thanksgiving.
We are working the concession stand on Saturday, December 12th from Noon -
Six PM. It is for a large High School Speech meet so the band stands to make
some decent money by supplying workers. The Sixth Grade Band will have a 2
hour shift, the Middle School Band will cover 2 hours and the High School
Band will cover 2 hours. I need to schedule about 10 workers (and maybe a
parent or two) for each shift.
HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!!!
Don't stop practicing just because we have a few days off school. Our Winter
Concert is on December 15th!
I have implimented a student mentoring plan to help the younger bands excell
more quickly. Thank you to all who have come in to help and I will refine the
program as we go so I can better meet the needs of the beginning students.
