BAND SUPPLY LIST I purchased a large box of clarinet reeds and a large box of alto sax reeds.They have gone up in price. I will have them on hand here in the Band Room and available to students in need. Clarinet reeds are $3 each. Saxaphone reeds are $4 each. Drum sticks are available for $7 per pair. I keep these items on hand to try to save you trips to town for supplies. Mr. Phipps ALL band members need the following equipment and supplies: - Instrument in good working order - Pencil - 5th and 6th graders - Standards of Excellence “Red Book” (may be purchased at a local music store) In addition to the above, each band member will be expected to have items specific to your instrument: Flute - Cleaning rod - Soft cloth for cleaning and swabbing (men’s handkerchief works great) tied to the handle, not in the case Oboe and Bassoon - Swabs made specifically for these instruments (silk works best) - Reed case - At least two good reeds Oboe - Kenny Evans Medium soft highly recommended Bassoon - Jones Medium soft highly recommended NO reeds for these instruments are available for purchase at school Clarinet and Saxophone - Swab. Silk preferred as it doesn’t bunch up and get stuck. - Cork grease - Neck strap (saxophones) - Clarinets may want a thumb rest though it’s not necessary - Reed guard - At least four good reeds. Van Doren brand is highly recommended.
