Mr. Phipps graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1982. He worked
24 years for United Airlines and jumped at the chance to become the new
Director of Bands for Calhan Schools in 2008. He has lived in Peyton since
1997 and raised his family there.
Mr. Phipps is currently enrolled in TIRP (teacher in residence program)
through Pikes Peak BOCES and UCCS. Upon completion of the program he should
have a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Music.
He currently resides with his wife of 27 years, Tammy, and his dog, Oy. His
two children, Adam and Andrea, attend college in St. Paul, Minnesota.
To instill the love of music into the Calhan students by teaching music
theory, music history, and performance techniques. Then, to let those
students excite the community with our performance and style.
