About The Teacher
This is my 5th year at Calhan Middle School and I love it! I have a masters degree in secondary eduction and a bachelors degree in Radio, TV, and Film production from Oklahoma State University! GO COWBOYS!!! I call Oklahoma City home, but am proud to live and work in Calhan. My daughter will graduate from Calhan this year and my husband coaches, teaches, and is the athetic director at Miami-Yoder. For fun, I like to watch football and basketball, fish, hang out with my family, and, above all, READ! I strongly believe that our middle school is the best and that our kids are even better!

Mission
My philosophy is simple: if you give them the tools, the time, and the encouragement, students will be successful. I operate in a workshop environment and believe that this is a very effective way to stimulate "guided independent" learning and it allows students to take ownership of their education. My expectations are very high, in and out of the classroom, and I make it clear to my students from "day 1" exactly what that means!
