This is my 6th year teaching at CMS. I received my Master's of
Science in Science Education degree from Montana State University, which
followed up my undergraduate work in Middle Childhood Education from Ohio
Wesleyan University.
While I live in Steamboat Springs I completely support the Bulldogs!! When not
cheering on our teams I like to spend time training for triathlons, mountain
biking, hiking, kayaking, playing Ultimate Frisbee, skiing, snowboarding,
reading, and watching movies. I would love to get a motorcycle!!
As an educator, my mission is to guide students to becoming critical-thinking,
compassionate, creative, and independent learners. In doing so, I will be
helping students develop skills that will serve them throughout life and allow
them to contribute positively to society as a whole.
This year I plan to continue incorporating problem-based learning, where
students learn content in the context of a larger problem; building on the
partnerships I have developed with scientists and creating new partnerships;
expanding students' definitions of current events; and incorporating
interactive notebooks that foster student reflection on what they have learned.
