YOU KIDDING ME...well, come to think about it, here are a few ideas:
Play catch with a friend to practice eye/hand coordination and improve
your catching/throwing skills. Remember that a wall or a roof will return
the ball to you if you can't find a partner.
Read for enjoyment during leisure time. Sports articles and sports heroes
are a really good place to start!
Be helpful and resourceful by helping out at home. There are always
things to be done in the house or outside in the yard. Be responsible
with each job you tackle and complete the task to the best of your ability.
Start slow by taking on some daily or weekly chores such as keeping your
room clean and making sure the house and yard are picked up. Develop a
consistent routine and increase your workload as you go.
Set some goals and encourage your parents to put up a completion
chart to keep track of your progress. Discuss an incentive plan with them
and develop a reward system for when your chart is finished. Good luck and
best wishes TEAM!
Riding your bike helps strengthens leg muscles and will further develop
your cardiovascular system. Be sure to wear a suitable bike helmet and
follow bicycle safety rules.
Practice simple movement skills like running, skipping, galloping,
jumping, hopping, sliding, and leaping. Combine your movements with music
and put together a routine to perform for your friends. Challenge them to do
the same. You can always involve your family pet as an audience, too!
And speaking of pets, don't forget that they need exercise as well. Spend
time walking and exercising your family pets. They will love you for it!
YOU only have one life to live,so live everyday to the fullest. Remember
today is the first day of the rest of your life, so make the most of it!
