November and Thanksgiving

November is one of my favorite months. The leaves have changed color and have fallen and children can be heard playing in the leaves bundled up in warmer clothes. Pumpkins are displayed along with other fall paraphernalia to celebrate this time of year. Thanksgiving is always a great time to gather with family and friends to share what we are grateful for. Here in the eastern part of El Paso county many families celebrate at this time of year from all the hard work they put into their farms and ranches over the past few months. In some ways we are like the pilgrims in 1621. They gathered for a feast with the Wampanoag’s to celebrate the colony’s first successful harvest. With the economy in the state it is in, let us not forget the blessings we have and be thankful for them.

Sick Students

The flu, cold, and everything else season is among us. Many students are coming to the office sick or with temperatures. Please keep your children at home if they have a temperature. They must stay home 24 hours after the fever has broken without any type of medicine breaking the fever.

Before and After Care

Please remember that our morning before care is by appointment only. Our B & A coordinator has updated our website with current forms and information. If you have any questions, please contact Judy Wilk in our office at 347-3156

Transportation To and From School

If your child is changing their regular mode of transportation at the end of the day, please contact the office and send in a note to keep on file. We cannot release a student for dismissal to an alternative means of getting home without proper paperwork and notification. If you have any questions, please call Debbie in the office at 347-3156.

School Phone Number

Our main phone number is 719-347-3156. Many times teachers will call parents from their classroom phone which is a different phone number. If you call that number back that is displayed on your caller ID it is calling every classroom at once. To keep instruction from being interrupted, please call the main line (347-3156) and we in the office will get a message to he staff member you are trying to reach.
