When is Balarat?

We are on the Fall rotation this year and are scheduled for Oct. 8-10.
There will be a parent info. meeting on September 9 at 6PM to brief you about
specifics. This exciting adventure is part of the required 5th grade
curriculum and one of the most memorable 5th grade activities.

How does the new grading system work?

Students need to be working toward state standards. Much information has
beensent home, and hopefully you will met with me at conferences (Oct.) to get
further clarifications. I'm always open to questions and ideas...let me
know.
Student work is sent home in Monday's Packets each week.

Can students REDO assignments?

Any assignment can be redone to help a student better understand a concept.
A REDO should be done on a new sheet of notebook paper and attached to the
original assignment.

How are you going to challenge my child?

There are a variety of opportunities available in all areas for your child to
be challenged in 5th grade. I ask kids to seek their own challenges as
well, do extension activities or engage in independent studies. If you
would like to discuss other avenues for expanded learning, please contact me.
