10/15 finish graph of recovery pulse data for tomorrow
10/12 study for respiratory quiz on Thursday 10/15

10/9 finish taking 2 column notes on the respiratory system pages 130-138 in
the Human Biology and Health book. Put these in your notebook and study for a
quiz on the respiratory system on Thursday Oct 15. Be able to label the parts
of the respiratory system shown on the respiratory system diagram given in
class Thursday

10/5 Digestion lab write up due. Diet log homework given today-due Thurs 10/8
study for quiz on digestion system Tomorrow
9/28 H.W.-none
9/29 H.W. complete digestion worksheet given in class today. Due Wed. 9/30
9/30 H.W. None
10/1 Write up mechanical/chemical lab report following experimental lab
format Due Monday 10/5
Lab materials: 2 alka seltzer tablets, water,
Design a lab testing the effect of mechanical digestion on the speed of
chemical digestion just using 2 alka seltzer tablets and water. If the alka
seltzer tablet represents food and the water represents a digestive chemical
(saliva),how could you change the alka seltzer tablet to represent
mechanical digestion? How you change the tablet is the variable you are
testing (tablet size). The dependent variable is the time the tablet takes
to dissolve. Variables that need to be kept the same or controlled are:
amount of tablet, amount of water, kind of tablet. Conduct the experiment
and write up the lab report using the experiment format. Due Monday.

10/2 Friday H.W. no new homework

Monday 9/21 make a bar graph showing the results of Mr. Krabb's results (see
experiment description below)Graph must be either on graph paper or a neat
hand made graph using a ruler. Must have a title, and labeled x & y axis
with units.DUE Tuesday 9/22
Experiment: Mr. Krabbs has created a sauce with a special ingredient he
thinkgs will reduce gas from eating crabby patties. He recruits 100
customers with gas problems. he has 50 of them (group A) eat patties with
the sauce with the special ingredient and 50 of them who eat patties with
sauce without the special ingredient (group B). Two hours after eating 30
customers from group A report fewer gas problems and 8 customers from group
B report fewer gas problems.

Study for quiz on Tuesday 9/22. You MUST be able to identify the independent
variable and dependent variable given an experiment description like the one
with Mr. Krabbs. Read your notes!

There will be a notebook check on Friday 9/25 to see if new notebook
procedures are being followed. Everything required for this week is expected
to be neatly in your notebook. If you are absent the first day you are back
you need to copy the notes from a teammate.

Week of Sept 14-17th
7th Grade IPM SCIENCE HOMEWORK
 DUE: Thursday, September 17th

Directions:	Your homework is to design, conduct, and report on an
experiment involving catching a tennis ball. You need to think about all the
variables that can affect how well you catch a ball. Choose one of these
variables to test. For example you may want to know the affect of trying to
catch with one eye closed. Since the example used in class was catching with
two hands versus one hand you may NOT use catching with one hand as your
tested variable. Always use a proper IPM heading on your homework. It is
required that your report follow the Experiment Format.
