Students will select group members and a major biome to research. Each group will research the biome on the webquest links provided and use the media center as needed. Then students will create a Powerpoint presentation that thoroughly represents their biome to share with the class. Each group will also be asked to make a three dimensional map of their biome. Each individual student will be asked to make a food chain for the biome of their group using Inspiration, complete a temperature chart and a world biome map (under the whole group category in the internet links section.) Groups will teach their classmates about their biome and how that biome is interconnected with our Ecosystem. While presenting the finished product, groups must explain the climate, the animals and the plants in that biome. Presentions must also explain why the environment is important for the animals and the plants to survive, and what might happen should that environment become damaged or extinct. Presentations will include cause and effect statements (i.e. if this animal becomes extinct it will effect the biome in this way). Next, click on the process section of the webquest to continue your journey around the world.
