Recorder class meets 3 times each week for 30 minutes.

TIP FOR THE WEEK : You may run your recorder through your gentle dishwasher cycle! Be sure to place it on the top rack. To keep your recorder clean soak it in rubbing alcohol overnight, rinse, and let dry.

Are you practicing daily for 10-15 minutes? If so, fill in your practice chart and return to Mrs. Carlile. Practice your songs with the CD music online. Follow the blue directions at the bottom of this page. Write down the username (karate) and password (rubric).

As of Nov. 4, 99% of our students have passed white, yellow, and orange tests and most students have passed green and purple. WAY TO GO, KIDS!!!!!

The week of Nov. 4 we add the notes C and D above middle C as we begin our Christmas music.

RECORDER TESTING

What's involved in playing the test song? Students play for memory solo or in a small group for me. I listen for clear recollection of the music, steady tempo, good tone and articulation.

We use a method known as KARATE RECORDER in which students practice and then test at colored levels. As each level is passed, the student receives a bead of that color. The beads are strung and hang from the end of the recorder. ht ow, the webpage with your test songs is misbehaving! I hope to have it going soon.
