Specific College Aid
Contacting the financial aid office of the colleges to which you are applying can be very profitable. Ask each one about total financial aid packages. Most will require that the FASFA be submitted prior to their assessment of available aid. Don't forget sports as well as academic scholarships. Often a college decision is based on the financial aid available, so compare the bottom line for each school.

Local Scholarships
Each spring, applications are available to apply for local scholarships sponsored by community members of Steamboat Springs and Routt County. They are due well before the end of the April, to allow the various committees to make their decisions before graduation. Students are encouraged to fill out the school application form as well as specific applications. Letters of recomendation may be needed as well as essays and transcripts. An early start will allow the students to prepare their applications in a thoughtful and professional manner.
