| The two weeks after Spring Break will be spent listening to HOLES,
completing an essay, and taking a HOLES final.We are approaching our final
genre study of Cultural Fiction with its Essential Questions due 5/27, and
its project's presentations 5/30, 6/2 and 6/3. Information will follow after
our return from Spring Break.The book talks will be April 13 in the library,
so students will soon be making their choices. I have set up a blog-how fun
is that?? and all students have been trained on how to access it. This will
replace the reading logs from 1st and 2nd quarters, so students are
encouraged to answer the directive from their home computers each week.
Our remaining Geography units will cover a brief overview of the United
States, Canada, Mexico, Latin, and South America. We will also complete
Current Event worksheets, by using a 5 theme focus. I have subscribed to the
Newspapers in Education program, to allow each of my students to have access
to a newspaper in the classroom to accomplish this. It was an exciting class
offered this past summer in Denver, that has many auxillary connections to
help inform and educate students,(as well as provide newspapers free to me)!
