Jump Rope for Heart:
We have recently completed our Jump Rope for Heart after school event,
which benefits the American Heart Association. We had over 130
students in grades 1-5 participate and volunteer their time and efforts
into this service project. The American Heart Association helps save
lives through research and education programs. Soda Creek
Elementary School students raised over $7,000.00 to donate to this
worthy cause. All of the donations will go directly to the American Heart
Association of Colorado, which provides programs for our state, our
community, and healthy heart curriculum here at Soda Creek
Elementary. Many students raised money and were jumping in memory
or for a friend or relative suffering from a heart complication.
Our two events included lots of fun as the students jump roped, danced,
hula hooped, played fun games, and received door prizes. Our event
was a huge success! Thank you to all of our student and parent
volunteers for making a difference and helping to save lives. HEART
POWER!
In class we have been learning about Heart Power! We have been
learning about the function of the heart as well as how to keep it healthy.
Heart Power is as easy as 1,2,3…
