Fun Facts and Information to Help Snack Run Smoothly All Year Long
We will enjoy snack each morning. (The exact time might change depending on the
day.) Our hope is that snack will provide a mid morning boost of energy, but not spoil
anyone's lunch. With 26 kids, each family will have a snack day 6 times a year. Each
family will have 3 consecutive school days in the first and second semester.
The snack schedule is now available on the "DOCUMENTS" link!!!
Each child will be responsible for preparing and passing out snack to the class on their
specific day. It is helpful to make snack as easy to hand out as possible. We always
appreciate snacks that have been washed, cut, or divided evenly before they come to
school. We do have snack bowls at school that we use for snacks that come in BIG
bags (like pretzels, animal crackers, goldfish, etc.). As you know, individually wrapped
snacks work well too!
Steele is working hard to encourage healthy, low-sugar snacks to help boost our
energy. Some of the children's favorite snacks in the past have been string cheese,
tortillas, bread, animal crackers, pretzels, graham crackers, fresh fruit, and vegetables.
We do have a small refrigerator in the classroom to help keep juice boxes, cheese,
and yogurt cold. Please send enough snacks for 30 people. It helps to have a few
extra snacks in case one gets dropped or ruined by accident.
We always try to make sure that there is a snack for everyone to enjoy. However, we have found it best
to avoid snacks with nuts or seeds. We do have children in our class with allergies to these ingredients.
We know that it is hard to base everyone's snack on this information. But, we ask you to consider these
children when bringing snack in to share.
Thanks! Please let us know if you have any questions!
