SPE was recognized at a recent City Council
meeting for their efforts in establishing a
recyling program. The school was named
Recycler of the Year by Yampa Valley Recyling
and received the Young Pioneers award from
the Community Alliance.

SPE students celebrated National Recycling Day
by dressing up in green and creating trash
monsters out of trash in their classrooms. They
weighed the trash in the cafeteria to see how
much trash we are making at lunch. Student
Council members also visited each classroom to
review our recycling guidelines.

SPE students mixed it up in the cafeteria on
National Mix It Up day. Students enjoyed
gettting to know someone new.
