This ensemble is for players of wind instruments, such as flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba. The goal of this ensemble is to develop reading and performance skills, using a variety of literature. The text for the class is Essential Elements 2000, accompanied by scores suitable to the ensembles overall skill level. Students in this group are expected to practice and perform a variety of music, including but not limited to classical, folk, jazz, and rock. Students will be asked to memorize some of the music, as well as scales and arpeggios. This group will perform at home football and basketball games, recruiting trips, four formal evening, and when asked by the school administration.

Students need to have the appropriate oils, reeds, etc. and a pencil on their music stands. Though not required, the Rubank books are highly recommended. Students are welcome to set up private lessons before school, at lunch, or after school as the teacher's schedule allows.
