The Puppies Jane Palinkas, from Winsted,
brought her 5 Malamute sled
dogs to Botelle to kick off our
Iditarod Reading Race. She
talked about the equipment
needed for mushing and gave
us an actual demonstration on
the snow. |

The Starting Line At the close of school on Friday
the dogs and sleds
representing
each of the classes in the
school
were lined up at the starting line
ready to begin the race. Good

The Champions! Mrs. Hennig's Fifth Grade class
is actually the defending
champion. The last time we did
the Iditarod Reading Race they
were in second grade and Mrs.
Wilkinson's class won that year
too. |
