The Pythagorean Theorem
The Pythagorean theorem can be used to determine the length of the hypotenuse,
or longest side, of a right triangle.
Use the following formula to find the hypotenuse and then draw the triangle on
the graph paper.
a squared + b squared = c squared
example: a=2mm
b=3mm
a squared =4mm and b squared = 9mm
4mm+9mm= 13mm
the square root of 13= 3.61, so c= 3.61mm
Your problem:
a= 15cm
b= 18cm
