I am a Milford girl through and through and I have lived here my entire
life. In fact, my family has been in Milford since 1908! My friends like to
kid me because I don't like to leave my zip code! I was in the first
graduating class at Foran High School which now makes me feel really old! I
graduated from Albertus Magnus with a degree in psychology and then went to
Southern Connecticut for my Masters in Special Education. Two years ago I
also completed and my Sixth Year at Southern. I have been teaching the
Primary Development for 25 years and I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!!!! I still get
butterflies in my stomach the first day of school and I still cry on the last
day. I feel grateful that I am in a profession where I can make a difference
in a child's life and at the same time enrich my own.
I have a daughter named Emily and she is a sophomore in college in
Washington, D.C. She has decided to become a special education teacher,
which of course makes me very proud! Lots of the toys and the books in my
classroom were hers when she was little, so she still has a chuckle when she
visits my class!
I live in with my significant other, Steve, who is also a born and bred
Milford boy. He also works in Milford as a kitcher designer. He has 2 boys
who both go to college in Boston. But, even though all our kids are in
school, we do not have an empty nest. We still have one son at home...our
golden retriever, Grady!
My missions for the Primary Development class:
*To let my students know how exciting learning can be all day long in
everything we do!
*To laugh and sing every day!
