Spelling Center. The objective of
this center is
to strengthen the children's
spelling strategies,
phonetic awareness, revising, and
editing. This
center also helps the children to gain
confidence by independently reading
and
following directions.
Computer Center
Excellent teaching software that
has been
loaded onto all of the school
computers. Mostly
the children will use the FAST MATH
program to
strengthen number facts. There is
also a great
Math program called SME that brings
the child
through all levels of challenging
math concepts.
Buddy Reading
At the Buddy Reading Center the
children get together on the rug
and enjoy reading with a
partner.
When they have completed the book
they have to respond to various
graphic organizers.
These organizers are selected to
strengthen comprehension and
critical stance thinking skills.
