     Book poster that was a summer homework assignment should be brought to school no later than <STRONG>Wednesday, September 9th</STRONG>. Children will begin sharing them on <STRONG>September 8</STRONG>. Regular shares will not take place this week. </DIV>

<DIV>     Children will construct a family shield during the first week of school. Students will draw a shield and add their family names. Each child will be asked to glue photos or to draw pictures that define their family. Photos of family members including pets, vacations, holiday celebrations, symbols of heritage, seasonal activities and/or  sports are some ideas. Please begin to discuss those things that are important to your family with your child and perhaps begin to plan the shield.  It would be helpful to send in some photos with your child.  Children may choose to draw pictures on their shields and/or to combine photos and hand drawings. </DIV>

<DIV>     Electricity and magnetism are the two science topics that we will study in Sept. Any parent with expersise in these fields and an interest in presenting to the class may contact me. Thank you.</DIV>
