The students will start the year with a study of their unique creativity. Students will design a sun following specific criteria. Students will show their ability to create a unique and interesting design while meeting the “design rules” Mrs. Cafferty has set. Students will really need their problem solving skills for this project.
LINE - Students will dive into the art elements by learning the importance of contour lines. Students will create a traditional contour drawing, a continuous contour drawing and a blind contour drawing.
Sand painting will be the 4th graders next project. The study of line will continue and the lesson will also be alined with the language arts unit of Native Americans.
SHAPE - Students will move onto the art element of shape and will continue the study of Native Americans by creating a Katchina Doll collage. Symmetry during the creation for this art project.
