About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
This is my ninth year of teaching at Frenchtown Elementary! I have taught second grade for seven years and I am now embarking on my second year teaching fourth grade. I have lived in Trumbull for twelve years. I received my Teaching Certification and Masters' degree from Sacred Heart University in 2003. I have also just completed my 6th year degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University. My husband, Ricky, and I have a wonderful thirteen year old daughter named Madeline, who is beginning eighth grade this year at Madison Middle School. We have a white rabbit named Ace, two cockatiels named Sammy and Monty, and two aquatic frogs. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, relaxing, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children!
Mission Label:
Mission
My mission for the class is to empower my students with the ability to strive for their personal best. I hold high expectations for all of my students and I encourage each student to do their best everyday! I will foster a dedicated sense of community in my classroom with mutual respect for all. In this environment, students will learn to make positive choices, take risks, problem solve and be guided to reach their fullest potential. I believe: * all children can and are able to learn if they are provided with the necessary support and guidance at school and at home; *every child has the right to learn in an environment where they feel safe to take chances, make mistakes, and then learn from them; *all children need to respect each others' similarities and differences; *every student has their own unique learning style and it is my responsibilty, as their teacher, to discover their styles and differentiate my instruction accordingly; *children are wonderful!
