Hello, my name is Mrs. Carley. I am excited to be teaching
fourth grade this year. This will be my twelfth year of
teaching in the Trumbull School District. I taught second grade at Jane
Ryan School and Middlebrook where I also taught first grade. I joined
Frenchtown School in the 2010-2011 school year. I graduated from The
University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s of Science
Degree in Human Development and Family Relations with a concentration in
Early Childhood Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching from
Sacred Heart University. I became a teacher to bring out the best in
children. I believe each child has their own set of unique qualities and
I feel fortunate to be someone to help nurture those abilities.
I have been married for 15 years to my wonderful husband and best friend.
We have two beautiful daughters, Caitlin and Ashley. My oldest daughter
is 11 and she is entering middle school this year. Ashley is 8, and she
is excited for third grade. We had a busy summer filled with many happy
moments. In July my we traveled to NJ with our daughters and their dance
team so they could participate in a national dance competition. You will
soon know that aside from teaching I am a proud dance mom. After our busy
week in NJ we drove right up to Cape Cod where we take our children every
year. When I was a child my parents took us to the same place that we take
our children to now. It is a very special place for my family. We were
hoping to make a trip to San Diego, but our dance schedule was quite busy
in August. My family loves to travel so we can learn about the history of
different countries and explore how people live in other cultures. During
April break of 2012 we traveled to Brussels, Belgium and then we journeyed
to Paris, France. We also took the children to Italy in 2009. We are
working on planning our next adventure. During my free time I enjoy
reading, cooking, baking and decorating cakes, exercising, and finding
ways to support a healthy, organic and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Mission for my students:

It is my job to make sure that each student feels comfortable in the
classroom environment. I believe when a child feels happy, secure and safe
their natural abilities will surface. I am honored to be the one who gets
to help your child blossom.
