December 21 - 23, 2009 * Students who have not yet performed the CAPT style common assessmment lab have arranged to stay after school Monday to complete it. Beyond this week the equipment will be put away and we will be learning Physical Science using a new textbook, "Motion, Forces, Energy". *Congratulations to all the hard working students who achieved honors in Science! Monday - No Homework- except for make up work: Atom Model, Element Quiz, CAPT Lab, Chemistry Unit Test, and classwork/homework assignments all of which are on the 2nd Trimester. December 14 - 18, 2009 * All students who were absent for the CAPT style Common Assessment lab last week may stay after Tuesday to make it up. * Test: Chemistry Unit on Thursday this week! * PENNY WARS have begun! Bring in pennies, silver coins or dollars to help in this Bridges Fund Raiser. Monday - 1. Review pages 80-87 about the Periodic Table which we read and took notes on last week, and fill in the Guided Reading form. 2. Answer the first half of the Blueprint for the Test on the Chemistry unit. This is a great study guide when completed! Tuesday - 1. Complete the blank Periodic Table that we began in class. This is another tool for remembering the information better! 2. Complete any remaining test Blueprint questions. We will correct and discuss each tomorrow. Wednesday - Study for the Chemistry Unit test tomorrow! Thursday - No Homework (Make up work!!) Friday - No Homework December 7 - 11, 2009 * CAPT style Lab: Speed of a Chemical Reaction all this week! This is our Common Assessment for T2. * Homework corresponds with the lab work done during class. Monday - Think of additional information to add to the Lab Procedure (design). Tuesday - Improve the Data Table for the Lab. Wednesday - Study (20) element names and symbols for Friday's quiz. Thursday - Study element names and symbols and complete Lab Report conclusion and graph. Friday - Final Lab Reports submitted today or Monday. Copy info. from sloppy copy to final report or retype the entire report. November 30 - December 4, 2009 * PHOTO make-ups are Monday, 11/30 * School Store opens Thursday, 12/3 * First Trimester ends this Friday, 12/4 * The focus of study this week is on the structure of the atom, and information on the Periodic table of Elelments. * Atom Model Projects are DUE FRIDAY, 12/4 * Check out the new FUN SCIENCE LINKS about atoms and the Periodic Table!!!
