Homework

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL 2007-2008

No Homework!

Please make sure you submit your Science textbook to me and any make-up work 
that has not yet been completed.  No more student assignments will be 
accepted after Wednesday.

See you on Monday, 6/23 for our Harborside Picnic!

It was another great year for Team White/7 and I hope your plans for summer 
vacation include fun, fun and more fun!!



June 9 - 13, 2008

* CLASS TRIP to Boston, MA Friday!  Be at school by 5:45am for our 6:00am 
departure.  The buses will NOT wait for late arrivals, even if you call ahead.
Electronics and snacks are allowed but they are YOUR responsibility! Please 
remember these points:
1. Chaperones should be within your field of view at all times; stay with 
them!
2. School rules apply to both behavior and appropriate clothing!
3. $15 will be given to you for lunch/museum gift shop but you may bring more!
4. Electronics may be brought along but you are responsible for them; we will 
NOT stop to look for lost items!

*Unit Test: Earth Science on Thursday!


Monday - Complete reading Chapter 3 Volcanoes. Answer the fist half of the 
Blueprint for Earth Science Test questions that are due Wednesday.

Tuesday - Finish answering the Blueprint review questions, due tomorrow.

Wednesday - Use the twenty minutes of homework alloted to Science for pure 
study in preparation for tomorrow's test. Have a family member "quiz" you 
outloud from the textbook (Chp. 1, 2, & 3), notes, or handouts.

Thursday - TEST today! No Homework

Friday - Makeup work should be done as soon as possible so their scores can 
be included in final grade averaging.



June 2 - 6, 2008  Picnic Permission forms due WEDNESDAY, June 4th!!

*Please read all of Chapter 2 Earthquakes by Thursday of this week!  Look at 
pictures and photos to help you understand new science vocabulary.

Monday - Use pages 44-50 to compare and contrast faults and folds in the 
Earth's crust.

Tuesday - Read pages 54-55 and list the three types of scales used to measure 
earthquakes.  How does each work?  What does each measure?

Wednesday - Reread pages 61, 65, and 69, then answer the Reading Checkpoint 
question at the bottom of each page.

Thursday - Read remainder of the Chpater 2 and define these key terms: 
stress, fault, fold, earthquake, epicenter, focus, seismic wave, magnitude, 
seismograph, aftershock, tsunami.

Friday - Make up any missed work or assignments that have not been done.  You 
may begin reading Chapter 3 Volcanoes.  Find out what the classroom lesson 
was for the day that was missed and make up that assignment, as well.
