An important component of the middle school experience is the After School Activities Program. Our program is open to all students in grades 6, 7 and 8. These activities are held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 2:35 – 3:55 PM. A 4:00 PM late bus is provided for all students who have been given parental permission. The following activities are offered: |

Art Club: Students will explore a variety of drawing techniques (cartooning, stippling, shading, etc.) using a variety of media aids (pencils, pen, ink, etc.) (Thursday - Room 104 with Ms. Daphne Blackwell-Watson) Chorus Club: All students who are interested in participating in Regional Chorus and/or ACDA Children's Chorus should sign up for "Chorus Club." We will spend time rehearsing for each of these performance opportunities. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Voss. (Tuesday - Room 102B with Ms. T. Voss) Computer Club: Explore Internet resources, Internet games, and Harborside software programs. (Tuesday - Computer Lab with Ms. C. Isiofia)
Iceland Cultural Exchange Club: Communicate
with your neighbors that live near the Intramurals: Harborside's Intramurals program offers students a fun way to interact with peers from all three grades, while learning and applying physical and athletic skills. Participants engage in activities such as basketball, wiffle ball, flag football, hockey, etc., while learning the importance of teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship. (Tuesday - Gym with Mr. J. Urban, Thursday - Gym with Mr. R. Shea) Ski Club: New member registration night is Thursday, November 5th at 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Harborside Cafeteria. The Spirit of HMS- A Spirit Committee: The
purpose of this club is to help maintain and increase the spirit of the
Harborside community by building spirit for Harborside/Milford Public Schools
in the
Talent Show: If
you enjoy performing, singing, dancing, and/or comedy, get your act together
with a staff member and plan to be a part of the Talent Show. An information
meeting will be held in December. (Meeting dates to be determined - Gym with
Ms. L. Napier)
Yearbook: This club offers a great opportunity for 8th grade students to work together to make the most interesting and exciting memory book for Harborside. Although not all 8th graders can be on yearbook staff, all students are encouraged to bring in pictures from past and present for the yearbook. The yearbook will also soon be collecting information from 8th grade students including some of their memories, their favorite things, baby photos, and much more. All students can also bring in artwork for cover designs or for inside pages, so that all students can participate and become part of this years' yearbook. (Thursday - Room 7 with Ms. Straub)
