It is now Trimester 3 ~ all homework assignment will be posted under the "Homework ~ Trimester Three" page of my website. Can you believe that we are 2/3rds of the way through 6th grade?! Thursday 3/15: It's NATIONAL SLEEP AWARENESS WEEK! If you did not get a chance to complete your SLEEP POEM (at least 8-10 lines) in class today, please finish it for homework tonight. Remember to focus on word choice to create imagery and mood in your poem. Wednesday 3/14: No homework. Enjoy! You deserve it! Tuesday 3/13: Get a great night's sleep, sharpen your pencils, and eat a brain food breakfast! Monday 3/12: Complete WORD FIND worksheet (unnecessary shifts in verb tense) - both sides. Today we completed the CMT Practice test in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. This practice booklet, plus a paper of "Helpful Hints" should be brought home and shared with parents. It is also available on the Hillcrest website. **Mrs. Ryan (our Reading/LA Specialist) has also posted  review packages for grades 6, 7, and 8 in reading comprehension, DRP, editing and revising, and prompt writing. This is available to you if you should want some extra review. Attention Parents of Team 6 Purple Students: Progress reports will be distributed on Friday 2/3. The grade you will find on the progress report is a range that indicates your child's progress at this moment in time. Since this is the second trimester of sixth grade, your child's effort may have remained consistent, but the level of difficulty of the material has increased. This trimester has been more writing intensive than the first, and your child's progress report grade may reflect that.This is a snapshot of current performance, and is subject to change in either direction before Trimester Two report cards are distributed.  Please continue to monitor your child's agenda pad and this website for upcoming assessments, announcements of tests/quizzes, and nightly homework assignments.
