About Me

Mrs. MacDonald is a practicing painter and her chosen media is oil paint.
Her subjects are symbolic, causing the viewer to use interpretive and
inferential skills to find the intended meaning. She finds it incredibly
freeing to paint very large, as it causes the viewer to "enter in" to the
environment. She also enjoys painting very small, as that causes the viewer
to behold something precious and intimate. Her other preferred media are
collage and drawing.

Mrs. MacDonald's work has been in art exhibits in New York and Connecticut.
She is a proud member of the Arts of Tolland.

Mrs. MacDonald holds a BFA with honors in painting from The Hartford Art
School and previously worked as a grades 7-12 art teacher at The Master's
School in West Simsbury, CT.

Vision

Students will discover their artistic voice and find art an
area of expression that enhances their lives, the Porter community and the
world around them.
