Topic we will be covering this year in science:
• Scientific Method/Overview of Inquiry based labs
• The Human Body
• Simple Machines
• Earth’s Systems: Volcanoes, earthquakes, and others.
• Food Preservation
Student Expectations:

• Class begins promptly. Get to class on time and have all materials
out and
ready to have a successful day.
• Be prepared to participate and learn.
• Homework is expected to be completed!!!
• Abide by all School Rules and policies; they are there for our
safety and
well being.
• LISTEN and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS at all times. You are in a science
classroom-for your safety and the safety of others.
• Quietly review work/assignments when finished.
Grading System: Grades will be based on a total points system. Points will
vary depending upon assignment. Your learner may want to keep track of their
progress in their personal agenda. All grades will be posted by Student
Identification number in my room. Parents are welcome to check their
students
grades anytime. I strongly encourage you to communicate with your child
about
their scores. Any scores lower than a 70 must be returned with a parent
signature the day after it is handed back to the student!!!

• Quizzes- count once
• Tests- count twice.
• Labs- count once
• Projects- count once
• Cumulative final
Supplies needed to be successful:
• 3 ring binder
• pens and pencils
• Eraser
• Extra white lined paper
• Folders with pockets
• Calculator (any kind)
• Dividers (optional)
