Our Caterpillars

Sept. 16, 2009: Our first caterpillar starts eating!

October 5, 2009: Our first butterfly has emerged from the chrysalis.
Notice the remains of the chrysalis hanging from the branch
(below and to the right of the butterfly).

October 5, 2009: The butterfly climbs onto Mrs. Coviello's
finger as the M-T afternoon class gets ready to release it.

October 5, 2009: The butterfly drinks from a blossom on the butterfly bush.
After this picture was taken, our beautiful butterfly flew up into the sky.

October 6, 2009: Our second butterfly emerged from its chrysalis this afternoon!
When we came in from recess, we saw it clinging to the chrysalis.
Mrs. Coviello brought it outside after school and released it.
