2nd graders are expected to spend 15 minutes daily with homework. Some families have been very successful with homework completion by setting aside a specific time and place to complete homework. Some have found that right after school works best. Please refer to the section on "Homework" in the curriculum packet you picked up at open house. Homework will reinforce skills taught in school, and give additional practice. If the work is too difficult, jot me a note so that I will know effort has been made. Daily reading and practice of math facts and spelling words is strongly encouraged. Remember to read for pleasure and to participate in family read- alouds and storytelling.
