Dear Kindergarten Families, Here are a few suggestions to start the year off right: *Please have your child get plenty of rest each school night. *Please encourage your child to eat a good breakfast each morning. *Although separations can be hard, please assure your child that the Kindergarten staff will take good care of them all day and that we will be sure to put them back on the right bus back home or to daycare at the end of the day. *Please dress your child in layers if it is a cool morning, because the classroom can be warm during the early Fall days. *Please label your child's clothing. We suggest you send an extra change of clothes, or two, to be kept at school in case of an accident during the school day. Please send them in a labelled bag/ ziplock bag and we will store them in our classroom. *Please send your child everyday with a backback (without wheels) and a folder so they can carry papers back and forth from school daily. *Please send in a lunch or lunch money (you can also prepaid on your child's lunchcard)and a healthy snack to school daily. *Please read the weekly newsletter that I will be sending at the end of each week. It's great for you to stay informed of our current activities, so you can encourage your child to speak about what we are doing at school with you; don't believe it when they say we are doing nothing at school. :) * Please let me know right away about any questions or concerns you are having so I can inform you or do what I can at my end to make your child's school experience adventurous and fun. Also encourage your child to come to me if something is bothering them so I can help them with the issue right away. I really look forward to working with you and getting to know your child over the coming year. Kindergartners are awesome!!! I hope you'll be able to volunteer in the classroom on occaission to experience it first hand. Sincerely, Laura Lawton
