Chorus Concerts

November 10th, 2009

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our annual JFK Holiday Concert will be presented on Thursday evening, December
10th at 6:30 pm. I expect all fifth graders and select chorus members to
participate in the chorus portion of the concert and hope that you and your
families will be able to attend.

Chorus is part of our curriculum here in Milford. The evening concert is a
“final project” for them, and an opportunity to show what they have learned
over the previous months and how hard they have worked. As singing in a
chorus is a cooperative team-learning situation, the quality of our
performance depends on our team all being present and working together.

As in the past, I know I can count on your support and cooperation. I would
like to request that:

1)	Grade 5 Chorus members should dress appropriately for this event. Girls
should wear a dress or a nice shirt with a skirt or pants, and dress shoes (no
heels). Boys should wear nice pants and a shirt, with dress shoes. No
sneakers or jeans please.
2)	Select Chorus members should wear a nice white shirt with a black skirt or
pants, and black dress shoes (no heels).
3)	Because this is a holiday concert, students may wear a holiday hat if they
choose.
4)	Please plan to have your son or daughter at school (in their assigned
rooms) by 6:00 pm to warm-up and line-up. They will go on stage promptly at 6:30!
5)	Please encourage your child to be on his or her best behavior during
rehearsals and performances. It is a privilege for him/her to have the
opportunity to perform in a school program.
6)	To ensure that our performers have the best experience possible, please
remember that there is no flash photography, turn off all cell phones, pagers
and watch alarms during the performance, and keep all children not in the
concert away from the stage.

I am enjoying working with the 5th graders and select chorus and I am eagerly
looking forward to the Holiday Concert. I am confident that they will present
an excellent program. If you have a conflict or have any questions, please
feel free to contact me at school via email at arock@milforded.org.

Please sign the bottom portion of this letter and have your child return it to
me as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, December
10th at 6:30 pm!

Sincerely,
Ms. Rock
Music teacher, JFK
