Hello from Mrs. Flangan's Classroom!
I am so excited for the 2009-2010 school year. First graders are very
special in many
ways. The year ahead will be filled with growth; both academically and
physically.
Each day we will have snack in the morning. Within our class this year,
there are children who are allergic to both peanut and tree nuts. I do not
allow children to share snacks. Please provide a small snack each day with a
napkin and a drink (no candy or soda please). Our district is encouraging
healthy choices for foods. In first grade, we do celebrate birthdays. There
are 22 students in our class (12 boys and 10 girls). Please let me know ahead
of time if you would like to celebrate your child's birthday in school.
Check your child's backpack each and everyday for mail and forms that may
need to be returned. Please sign the assignment book each night. It is
helpful to review the day's work to reinforce the skills we've practiced.

Monday: Library and Music
Tuesday: Art
Wednesday: Music
Thursday: Gym
Friday: Gym
Our trips to the computer will vary each week.
Lunch will be from 11:30 until 12:00 each day.
