In reading class, the students will participate in the Reader's Workshop Program. The teacher gives a mini-lesson on a specific skill and then the students complete an independent activity on this skill. The teacher works with the students in small guided reading groups while the other children read independently or respond in their reader's notebook.
**** The students must always have an independent reading book of choice with them. This book may be from home, their teacher's library or the school library.
