This year science will be part of the CMT. Students will be tested on the
units covered in fifth grade as well as all units covered in the
previous grades. In order to help prepare students for the science portion
of the CMT, we will be reviewing the material previously learned in the
younger grades.
Science Experiments
In order to reinforce the scientific method, students will be required to
create a scientific experiment at home to perform for the class. They must
think of an experiment and design it at home. On the date of their
presentation, students will bring in all materials and will perform the
experiment for the class. Experiment write-up worksheets will be due on the
date of the presentation. Students have this in their science folder. On
this worksheet, students will record their purpose, hypothesis, materials,
procedure and conclusion for the experiment. The experiments can range from
simple to complex, but students are limited to a ten-minute presentation.
