Lots of excitement happened right before our vacation. Our naughty,
little gingerbread baby finally showed up. We discovered him right behind our
classroom door with a note. When we read the letter, we discovered that he had
been having a great time playing instruments in the music room, eating
leftovers in the cafeteria, and exercising in the gym. He saw our "Wanted"
posters and decided to come back home to room 157. We'll have to keep an eye
on him!
Also, we got a very exciting call from Mrs. Macchio. She called our
classroom to tell us an elf and a reindeer were in her office with a package
for us. Ryan and Aiden went down to get the package. Inside we discovered
letters from Santa! We had written him just a few short weeks ago. Our purpose
in writing was to ask thoughtful questions, practice good handwriting, and
letter-writing skills. We were shocked to discover he replied to each and
every letter! Your first grader brought their letter home on Wednesday, the 23rd.
Our Pizza Party and Cookie Swap was a delicious success. Thanks to all of
the families for yummy cookies. Everyone went home with an overflowing bag of
goodies! A great time was had by all!
On Wednesday, January 6th, we will go on our first field trip. We will
take the "big, purple bus" to the Ferguson Library for a visit and some
wonderful storytelling. The permission slip will come home with your child in
their homework folder on Monday, January 4th. Return it as soon as possible.
