What's New?

What a wonderful job students did on their Thankful posters. It was
evident how much time, effort and thought went into creating the posters. I
was so touched to watch each student come up to the front of the group,
holding the pointer and sharing about their posters. Mrs. Gjuraj and I enjoyed
hearing about your families and how much your first graders love and care for
all that you do and provide.

Our class will have a Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009.
Please remember to send in your assigned goodies/ supply on Tuesday. Our feast
will take place from 12:00-1:00. Feel free to stop in and join us for a
Thanksgiving toast. Wednesday will be a short day. Students will be dismissed
at 1:20 pm.

This week, we will kick off a new literacy unit on Non-Fiction. We will
also take our unit 3 assessment in math.

We recently wrapped up our science unit on Weather and Wind. Students
have lots of background on types of weather, air, and wind. I hope you enjoyed
the pinwheels and the whirligigs that came home. Perhaps they found a special
spot in your yard. Coming up...our unit on Balance and Motion.
