About The Teacher
I have been working at Julia A. Stark for eleven years. During my time at Stark, I spent three years teaching First Grade, three years teaching Fifth Grade, and have entered my fifth year teaching Second Grade. Beginning last year, I hold the position of Math Liaison for Julia A. Stark Elementary School. This does take me away from my classroom once a month to attend math consultation meetings that are site based, but it also gives me the advantage of working closely with the Everyday Math consultant for our building. Last year I was nominated for Teacher of the Year. Although I did not recieve the title, I was very honored to not only have been nominated, but to represent Stark School. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my four year old daughter, Gabriella, and two year old son, William. I have been married to my husband, Mark, for 5 years. Besides spending time with my family, I love to read, watch repeats of The Practice, and am trying to teach myself how to back a better apple pie than my grandmother. The latter is probably impossible!

Mission
My mission for my class this year is for them to grow both academically and socially with the skills that they have brought to class with them, and the tools that I teach them throughout the year. It is my mission to help them achieve the skills necessary to move confidently into Third Grade at the end of the year...and have fun while doing it!
